After winning "Best Of The Fringe" in Canada’s Toronto Fringe Festival, and "Critics Choice" at the World Buskers Festival, variety entertainer David Ladderman is here to harness the power of swordfights, old timey cussing, iambic pentameter and squishy pumpkins.

"Battle of the Bastards" is the story of super-villain, Edmund - from Shakespeare’s King Lear, as told by a busker.

If you like Shakespeare you should probably go - if you don’t like Shakespeare you should definitely go....

“Raucously funny, rich, varied and grisly...”

Theatreview NZ

“Less than a week into the NZ International Comedy Festival and I’m tempted to call it one of the best. It’s definitely one of the most inventive, intelligent shows you’ll see in the festival.”

The Lumiere Reader

"Ladderman is a true star – versatile, dynamic and charismatic…

The show is dazzling."
